Appointment

If an assessment in the CMHC is being considered, an initial review by the family GP/ medical doctor should take place to ensure that a specialist referral is likely to be useful. Please send the referral by fax or post to the CMHC.

Both (where applicable) parents/guardians must consent to assessment/treatment. Consent forms for the initial assessment will be sent with the appointment letter and should be returned in advance of the appointment.

We accept referrals for pre-primary and primary school-aged children who have experienced difficulties which may be indicative of any of the following:

  • Attention Problems/ADHD
  • Social Communication/Difficulties/Autistic Spectrum Disorder
  • Behavioural Issues
  • Mood Disorders/Depression
  • Eating Problems/Disorders
  • Mood Dysregulation
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Tics

      Referrals are also accepted for

    • Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) Applications for Leaving Cert students
    • Medico-legal assessments and reports (excluding Custody and Access)
